About the Xibus Tour

~ The Mission

To provide high school students with the opportunity to work with world-class musicians in an educational and performance context. 

~ The Concert

The main concert is the culmination of the 2-day residency at each school and will feature the full student orchestra, choir, and select student soloists in performance with the Boston String Quartet and guest artists. 

The concert repertoire consists of music composed by the Boston String Quartet and international composers.

~ Tour Outcome

• Inspiring current music students to aspire to greater heights within their own music
• Planting seeds of interest within non-music students
• Providing exciting life experiences to students that would otherwise not have access to such opportunities
• Giving unique educational perspectives to teachers, and practical performance advice to students

~ Tour Vision

Following upon the successful completion of our inaugural year in 2008, we are currently seeking to expand upon the geographic scale of the Xibus tour in 2009/10 by reaching US cities coast to coast. In 2010/2011 we hope to present the Xibus tour in concert with college/university orchestras throughout the United States.

Over the course of the next five years, we hope to host the Xibus tour at high schools, universities, and colleges at multiple cities throughout the world. Each performance will consist of different students performing in their respective chorus and orchestra.

Our ultimate goal is to present students with a once in a lifetime experience to perform and learn alongside world-class artists.
